Welcome to my site.  It is mainly for Citroen 2CV and other A series owners who want to keep their cars going for minimal expense but please note there is a gearbox reconditioning service for other makes of car. Feel free to browse and even if you don't find what you're looking for just send me an email and I'll try and help.

About Me

I bought my first 2CV in March 1992, a lovely red special with 57,000 miles on the clock. I didn't really know much about cars, only enough to do a service. A month later the gearbox unwound as I reversed into my driveway. Good timing as it could have happened away from home but I had no idea how to fix it. After a couple of phone calls I discovered that there were no reconditioned gearboxes available. A new box from Citroen was almost as much as the car was worth. A local specialist gave me a few pointers and with the help of a friend we got the mainshaft out (with the box still in the car), rewound the offending bit, made it secure, made up shims for the selector forks and 'voila' my car was back on the road.

I thanked the specialist and promised him some other work on my car. He said well done and asked it I would fix some of his own boxes which had the same fault!! There began my 2CV journey.

Bit by bit I picked up more and more orders from around the UK, not just for 2CVs and dyanes but also for kit cars, racing 2CVs and 4 wheel drive 2CVs. They have been mated up to 652cc fuel injected visa engines and even BMW's GS1100 boxer engines.

I have rebuilt boxes dating back to 1956 manufacture and have working examples in all four corners of the globe.
